Kitchen Island

I did not get a picture before I took the old island apart, but there had been a counter on top of this wall that was covered with 4″ maroon tiles and the customer wanted it made bigger and with a smooth top surface, also altered to accomodate the range and add a few outlets.

The whole thing was stained to not quite match, but compliment the existing wood in the house.

Once built, the customer decided to add drawers for storage of pots & pans and other stove-related utensils. These drawers had to be custom-built to fit the size and shape of the island, as well as suit the customers needs.

Stair Railing

This staircase is in an historic schoolhouse that has been converted into a residence. The stairs were installed to access what used to be the attic of the school house, converted to 2 bedrooms. It was built without a railing and the couple who lived there had a toddler, so they hired me to install a railing to ensure his safety near the stairs.

Studio Apartment

This is an ongoing conversion of a storage area beneath a garage into a studio apartment. At this point, the apartment has been painted and is being finished. Scroll from the bottom of the page up to see the progress. (The pictures are in groups sorted by the direction the picture was taken, so you will see progression from one angle, then start over from a different angle)

15×25 Deck

This is a deck that I built on an historic schoolhouse in Vermont. It is mostly ground level, except on one side where the owners had me include a built-in bench/ railing to prevent their toddler from walking off the edge. The video shows a stop-motion progression of the deck being built.

Outside Staircase

This staircase was built to extend from the house to a flat patio area up the hill in the backyard. The change of direction at the top was to fit the stairs between two tree stumps in the ground, using them as anchors for the stairs as well as the railing- which has yet to be completed.Outside Staircase (1) Outside Staircase (2) Outside Staircase (3) Outside Staircase (4) Outside Staircase (5) Outside Staircase (6) Outside Staircase (7) Outside Staircase (8) Outside Staircase (9) Outside Staircase (10) Outside Staircase (11) Outside Staircase (12) Outside Staircase (13) Outside Staircase (14) Outside Staircase (15)
